Our History

713 Community Empowerment Group was birthed by a community organizer and the Matriarch of our family,

Mrs. Marion Garner

Marion Garner, wife and mother of 12 children was born in Chicago, IL.  Marion had great love and passion for the youth in her community and an even greater compassion for the senior citizen community. 

So much so, that she partnered with the Department of Human Services and launched the VERY FIRST - Adult Day Care program in Chicago Illinois. On which she earned and won a recognition award from the Mayor of Chicago. The organizations name was chosen to honor her birthdate - July 13th (713).  Today her passion to help her community and legacy lives on through this family-based nonprofit 501c3 organization that many know today as 713 Community Empowerment Group.
